🦌 Gardening in the Snoqualmie Valley
Gardening in our valley is both a rewarding adventure and a unique challenge! Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, we face wildlife encounters with everything from elk and deer to coyotes, bobcats, cougars, and even the occasional bear. Add in high winds, chilly winters, dry summers, heat domes, and tricky microclimates, and you’ve got a gardener’s test unlike any other. And let's not forget the constant struggle with rocky soil, persistent rabbits, and relentless snails & slugs!
But these challenges also unite us as a community of problem solvers. Our members have developed countless creative solutions—from wildlife deterrents to water-wise gardening and ways to protect delicate plants from extreme weather. By sharing these tips and tricks, we help each other thrive in this wild and wonderful environment. For every challenge, there’s a joy—and together, we’re turning them into successes!
