Landscaping with Native Plants

Landscaping with Native Plants

            by Julie O'Donald

Break out of the winter doldrums for a visit to the beauty of summer landscapes that attract birds and pollinators. Learn the fine points of creating a beautiful garden by integrating native plants into garden landscapes. Join us as we gain tips on choosing native plants that will give your landscape a sense of place and ease of maintenance.

Julie O'Donald is a Community Wildlife Habitat Steward and Master Gardener with over 35 years of experience creating wildlife friendly gardens. She has focused on the use of native plants integrated with ornamentals to attract butterflies and pollinators. Julie's garden has been featured in Pacific Horticulture and The Butterfly Gardener magazines, as well as the book, Butterfly Gardening: The North American Butterfly Association Guide, 2018.  Active in educational community outreach, Julie volunteers for the Washington Native Plant Society, the Washington Butterfly Association, Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, and the National Wildlife Federation.

PLEASE NOTE: This will be a Zoom presentation that we will watch together at Encompass Conference Room in real time. Julie will answer questions after her presentation. We hope to record it and make it available to members only through a link on our website for 2 weeks after the talk for those unable to attend or that would like to watch it again.
